Building a custom truck of this caliber takes a lot of time and attention to detail, which clearly shows here. In the above video, you get a quick glimpse at the wiring involved. This includes custom-built harnesses, distribution blocks, and monitors on the dash. Speciality harnesses were needed to allow communication between all four iDash modules, transmission control module, MoTeC power distribution modules and M142 engine control module. As well as all other onboard electronics.

Today, Ford opens the first electrified chapter in its legendary Supervan series with the global unveiling of the ultra-high-performance Ford Pro Electric SuperVan. This is at the 2022 Goodwood Festival of Speed in the UK. 

After completely stripping the interior, Ringbrothers began fabricating a complete custom interior. They started with a gauge cluster reminiscent of a WWII bomber to go with Restoration Hardware bomber-style seats. The exterior sheet metal was showing its age, too. Therefore, several custom panels were fabricated up front. Including new headlight surrounds and dimple-died trim that fill in the gap between the body and the bumper.

The One That Almost Got Away

The Dodge Charger Daytona SRT Concept features an inspired design that can bring revolution to the look of a BEV. However, it seems to still be offering some similarities to the brands muscle car past.

The looming extinction of muscle cars as we know them has left Dodge in a sticky predicament. How would Dodge transition from a muscle-car to an electric car, whilst still remaining that popular cool factor they are known for? The year 2023 will be the swan song for the ICE-powered Charger and Challenger. Stellantis seems unafraid of the big change that has to happen.

It’ll Cost Ya

At the time of its unveiling, Cyan Racing estimated a maximum of 10 examples per year could be produced and the entirely custom affair would start at around $500,000. Just a few months ago, when we revisited the P1800 Cyan, we informed you that the price had been bumped to $700,000. Also, Americans with some spare change burning a hole in their pocket were given the green light to take part in the fun.

The Ringbrothers set out to walk a fine line: evolve the first-year Mustang’s lines and proportions without losing the soul of Ford’s original pony car. The result? A seamless marriage of mid-’60s design charm with the sort of performance, precision, and refinement only the 21st century can offer.

Part 2 and part 3 of these projects started when I bought a partially completed 32 Roadster project from Shaun Sale in Cape Town. Shaun had visions of building the Roadster in traditional style. The parcel included a Pete & Jakes, Super Bell front suspension and proper Currie (not Ford), 9-inch diff as well as some other fine groceries including the engine and gearbox. I again had visions of building a 33 Pick-up in a traditional style and my own partially started 32 Roadster project, in a Boyd smooth billet style.
