Description:
Mastodon 160-degree thermostat with gasket for Small Block Chevy and Big Block Chevy applications. The 160°F (71°C) opening temperature is ~30°F cooler than stock — useful on boosted, high-compression, or high-output engines where lower coolant temperature reduces detonation risk and lets you run more ignition timing.
Note: a cooler thermostat only sets the minimum coolant temperature. It won't reduce peak temps if your radiator/fans are undersized for the application — make sure cooling capacity is up to the job.
