Witzenberg Motorklub, Racing4 Change and the Western Province Motor Club bring you the Outta Control Gymkhana and Straight Line Challenge. This is in partnership with AHI Renovators and Home Improvements, 1CC, Cape Medics and Miller’s Food Truck. All this is happening at Killarney International Raceway on Women’s Day, Tuesday 9 August.
This is a rare opportunity for competitors to tackle two motorsport disciplines at the same event – in the same car!

On the gymkhana course, you’ll see exciting head-to-head challenges, racing against the clock and loads of sideways action. Why? Because many gymkhana hotshots believe that the fastest way to get around a tight corner is to throw the car in sideways and accelerate – hard! It doesn’t always work, but it’s hugely entertaining to watch.
The day kicks off with straight-line action on the drag strip from 9:00 – 11:00 am. Then the same competitors move to a (very demanding) gymkhana course at the oval for head-to-head contests until about 17:00.
And you get to enjoy all the action for just R100 for adults, R20 for scholars under 16 and free for children under 12.

Enter at either Gate 1 on Potsdam Road or Gate 5, opposite the entrance to the dump. You can pay either with cash or a card – there are card facilities at both gates.
There’s hot food and cold drinks (including halaal) on sale all day. Or you’re welcome to bring your cooler box and skottel, and do your own catering! So get the family and make a day of it on this midweek public holiday. You could even win a passenger ride in a gymkhana car!

Catch special guest star DJ Ready D and his Safer Roads for All (SR4A) campaign. As well as Safely Home, a government-funded programme for safer roads in South Africa – plus a full field of spectacular drivers and drifters, including:
- Izak ‘Sakkie’ van Zyl in his V8 Toyota Corolla (no, we’re not kidding – come see for yourself!)
- Daniel ‘Danger’ Blaser in a Nissan 350Z;
- Leon ‘Pastoor’ Engelbrecht (they call him that because his passengers always end up praying) in his 400 horsepower turbocharged two-litre VW Golf;
- Lorcan ‘Sideways’ Aylward in a Ford Mustang 5.0 V8;
- Herman ‘Crazy’ Mahnke and his wife Jeanette in the HAT Dynamics/Mischief car
- And many more!
