So when a 1965 Ford Mustang Convertible came rolling in to shop from Hartebeespoort they knew they had the perfect car for one of their best clients Sasha. Sash has always loved the iconic Mustang however this project was commissioned for his wife to her own specifications”

The Mustang needed some serious TLC. The body was in a good condition. However the paint, motor and interior needed some serious work. The Mustang was stripped by the Creative Rides crew and the body was sent off to Pera Auto for bodywork. With minor rust repairs and a few small dings here and there the Mustang was ready for paint in no time. For paint, Sasha wanted something different, a colour that will make you look twice. She decided on candy apple red.
With the body in the shop, the original 289 motor was sent to All American Muscle. The motor was unmolested, however, it needed a rebuild to get the power back to factory spec. Deon Swanepoel rebuilt the motor to perfection. The decision was also made to change from a Manual to an Auto box.
Those who have had the opportunity to drive an old Mustang will know that they are great at going fast but not that great when it comes to stopping. To solve this problem Sasha opted for a full brake upgrade, which meant disc brakes with callipers all around and an updated brake booster and master cylinder. All springs, rubbers and bushes on the suspension were replaced.
With the body done and the running gear in perfect condition, it was on to the interior. Once again the decision was made to take it up a notch. Thanks to the guys from Creative Rides Audio they did it to perfection. The entire interior was gutted and they started from scratch. New custom door panels were moulded and fabricated. New plush carpets were fitted together with custom loose carpets.
The original front seats were removed and replaced with modern more comfortable seats. The rear seats were thrown out and a new seat was made from scratch. A custom centre console that runs from the front to the rear was installed. As well as housing cupholders and a storage compartment with 2 USB charging points within. All beautifully wrapped in black leather. The sound system is designed around the interior with leather and red stitching to match that of the seating. It is an interior to make a statement and that statement is “I’m Badass!!”.
All the old trim and accessories got replaced with brand new parts from the USA. A brand new soft top was also imported and installed making sure the black Vinyl top is in perfect working order. As we all know wheels and stance make the car. So Sasha opted for an imported set of Rambler Chrome wheels made by US Wheels. Running 18 inc in the front and 20 inches on the back.
All in all, this is one jaw-dropping Mustang and the crew from Creative Rides really outdid themselves. Special thanks to the Creative Rides crew, All American Muscle and Creative Audio and US Connection for exceptional work as always.
