SB Motorsport (SBM) has built a 1000hp, GTR powered Nissan Navara-R, it’s a World first and hopefully the blueprint for more of these crazy, pick-up trucks. It’s been a little over two years since the Essex based car fabrication team announced its intentions to embark on this mammoth project. It’s been worth the wait.
SBM founder, Stephen “Baggsy” Biagioni explains ‘I’m really proud to deliver the first Navara-R to the World and to have its debut at such a global event such as Isle of Man TT. This event has always been considered extreme for any petrolhead. So for me, it made total sense for us to use it as the launch of the most extreme Navara on the planet. While others have spoken about such a build, our Essex workshop has brought it to reality, and we’re not just stopping with one.”

Main body
SB Motorsport, the company behind Europe’s wildest Nissan GT-R Drift car, are ready to unleash the GT-R powered Nissan Navara-R! The Navara-R is a ground-breaking project that has been driven forward by Stephen “Baggsy” Biagioni and his team at SB Motorsports. The idea of a wild and Skyline-powered “shop truck” had been around for a few years. Then with the halt of motorsport activities during the pandemic, it was a perfect time to get started on this epic build!
The bodywork was developed by Sterling Automotive, who laser-scanned the original factory body and then nudged and sculpted the standard Nissan Navara into a sleek and tarmac-munching – yet road-legal – beast! With the CAD work complete, it was over to the APH3G workshop to fully manufacture and produce the full body kit.

The SB Motorsports team built fully custom suspension turrets to fit the original GT-R subframes, with fully custom ST Suspension. Labelled KW V4 Racing Coilover Suspension with HLS 4 Hydraulic Lift-System. Rolling on custom BBS20inch wheels with every last bit of stopping power from Alcon RC6 & RC4 brakes!
The team at @pcheshire_ap, engine did the build for the VR38 4.1L @runbc with over 160 hours of build time to complete this epic engine! Plenty more companies were involved in the engine build. This includes @supertechperformance valve train, @Tomei camshafts, @arpbolts, @kingbearings, @asnu_fuel_injection inlet manifold, @samcosport hoses, @forgemotorsport intercooler, oil coolers, radiator and all pipework. As well as @walton_motorsport custom made exhaust manifolds with the full system using @vibrant_performance tube, @garrettmotion G30 660 turbos, @knfilters, @turbosmarthq wastegates, heat management by Funk Motorsport, wiring by Phil at Wire Monkey, electronics & ECU by Syvecs, with mapping by Roman at RaceCal.

The GR6 transmission has been assembled by world leaders of dual-clutch transmissions, Dodson Motorsport in Auckland, New Zealand. They used Dodson Promax, Heavy Duty gearset with the full catalogue of parts installed, ready for everything the Navara-R wants to do. With the awesome body kit freshly fitted, the Baggsy’s Navara-R went to the FLS Wraps garage for the final touches to be ready for the first public viewing of this epic build!
SB Motorsport founder Stephen “Baggsy,” Biagioni says, “I absolutely cannot wait to get the Nissan Navara-R out in front of the crowds at the Isle of Man TT and Goodwood Festival of Speed! Showing off in this beast is going to be utterly epic!

“Everyone involved in the build-up and exposure of this project has been amazing. I can’t thank them enough for their help and enthusiasm. I’m so excited to finally unveil this project to the public and let them see it in person!
“I would also like to thank all my sponsors, the team here at SB Motorsport: Corbin, Ian, Sam & Mike plus friends, family and my partner Naomi. Without you, none of this would have been possible!”
